Robots as companions, partners and friends!

I had my piece of loneliness after a person that I passionately trusted vanished and left me to ruin in world of chaos and depression. My comeback to normal life took 4 Years. Fighting depression is the worst fight one can attempt, for you know in your heart that winning is impossible unless you find a complete mental diversion - technology was my only way out. Imagine future astronauts provided with a humanoid companion of opposite gender who can provide, care, love and protection from the known and unknown factors of an alien atmosphere. The thought itself provides courage to fund such an initiative.
