Human Employment Policy

Working at Vuoto

 

  1. Work at Free Will (No Contracts) - Vuoto does not have an employment contract / binding contract or a bond, we trust individuals and we believe employment at free will is the most appropriate form of employee-employer relationship for a research and innovation company without any restrictions limiting the best output from the individuals involved
  2. Leaving Vuoto - If you want to leave the company give us an advance notice of 30 days and we mandate that the resigning employee have to assist us in hiring, training and transitioning to a replacement resource. If the new hire transition does not happen within the 30 days of your notification date, we might ask you to continue to work with us remotely until we finish the transition time
  3. Post employment Non-Compete Agreements are in effect for the next 10 years if you were on our R&D projects and 5 years if you were on regular projects
  4. Local employment laws apply based on your location of employment with us
  5. Leave policy, vacations, food + fuel allowances and medical benefits varies based on the country of your employment with us
  6. Annual appraisals - appraisals are conducted during the month of December and we revise the ranks and pay based on performance
  7. Eco Dress Code - love cotton tee, jeans and sandals? bring it to work. We have the most liberal dress code laws on the planet and we are proud to support and promote earth friendly materials and man friendly apparels
  8. Human Friendly - Had a love failure? want a break, no worries you are covered at Vuoto. Depressed over losing a loved one? take a leave, refresh yourself at our expense. We understand the ups and downs of human life more than any one, we all came from there and we are happy to support any of our associates undergoing a difficult situation in life.   9. Anti Debt - Are you having a personal debt at a high interest rate with any financial institution? We can help you convert an unsecured loan into Vuoto's Employee Financial Assistance Program, for which you have to send an official mail to the HR department 60 days in advance for approval. You get all the time in the world to pay back the loan at 0% interest.

Standard Benefits

 

  1. Friend-Connector Benefit - All Non-Profit R&D / Community / Social Projects have Friend-Connector Benefit which can be secured once per month per employee per year by adding friends and family to test or participate in the pilot phase of a targeted project
  2. Company Phone / Internet - All US / EU associates and managers (in any country) are provided with a 4G/5G connection for all business communications. This is an unlimited data plan administered through Fi for US and Europe with global roaming and data in 60 countries
  3. Financial Assistance programs are currently enabled in all three locations, please talk to your reporting Manager or Respective Department Head to avail this benefit
  4. Business Travel - All business related travel expenses are covered by Vuoto with manager approvals necessary only for international travel

 

Work From Home Benefit

 

  1. Work from Home option is provided as part of the offer(from 2016 December) and this is not a seasonal flexibility nor a conditional allowance. Manager approvals are needed to temporarily WFH for associates who does not have this as part of their standard offer
  2. Converting from Regular to WFH - If you want to convert your role to WFH please talk to your manager, apply for WFH Benefit through HR Connect and wait for HR confirmation to sign the new offer before you can start using this benefit
  3. Mandatory work from office days - All employees under WFH benefit are required to work from office at least 10 working days per annual year, co-ordinate with your local manager for planning the weeks in which you are planning to work from office.
  4. 2019, due to harsh summer weather conditions in India - we have extended a work from home option for the two months starting from April 1st to May 31st.

 

Healthcare Benefits

 

  1. Critical Illness  Protection is an additional benefit launched from 2018 to support associates undergoing a critical illness by paying full salary up to six months, and half salary up to an year. Critical Illness is only applicable to employees / associates. Critical Illness benefit also covers leave of absence of an employee / associate in case of a direct dependent undergoing life threatening situation by providing full salary and benefits up to three months. Critical care is not part of any insurance, nor needs any contribution from the employee. This protection is God send for any associates / immediate family undergoing emergency health procedures and is available in all Vuoto locations
  2. Non-Prescription Medical Purchases (NPMP) - All Non-Prescription medical purchases are reimbursed up to 50% of the original invoice. NPMP is not covered under GMP and is scrutinized by benefits administrators based on a necessity score to approve or reject claims
  3. Global Medicare Plan  (GMP) - Any Medical treatments for associates, spouses and children upto age 10 are covered up to 90% under the GMP (Vuoto-Corporate-Benefits covers the cost and we use a third party to administer the plan). This is a zero deductible plan with coverage in any country (except Canada and United States) 24/7
  4. Power Nap - Employees working at night shifts have power nap break upto 1 hour if tired, sick while at work or need a refreshing break at the wee hours. A break room can be used for such breaks as needed.
  5. Monthly Reimbursements - GMP approved treatment costs are reimbursed at the end of every month upon submission of the medical receipts, hospital bills or post procedural invoices. Claims that undergoes verification might get delayed up to 90 working days before being paid out to associates. Non GMP / NPMP claims that are approved by a benefits administrator based on national necessity score will be reimbursed within 60 days of receipt submission
  6. Advance Payments - GMP has provisions for advance payments for pre planned surgical procedures and implants. Talk to your local benefits administrator for more details

 

Paid Leave Of Absence

 

  1. Maternity Leave - Aligning with our US employment policies, we have improved all other locations to follow the same maternity leave policy which is 90 days paid leave of absence for mothers and 30 days paid leave of absence for fathers
  2. Personal Time Off - 20 sick days / Personal Time Offs are allowed per calendar year
  3. Marriage - Two weeks paid leave of absence is allowed for marriage
  4. Vacation - Two weeks of paid vacations are allowed for employees and associates with up to 3 years of working relationship with Vuoto. For employees and associates with more than 3 years up to 5 years of working relationship with Vuoto the total vacation days are 3 weeks. For employees and associates with more than 5 years of working relationship with Vuoto the total vacation days are 4 weeks
  5. Emotional Time Off  - went through a breakup? we know how it feels. Feel free to talk to HR, provide a confidential in person explanation of the situation and take a paid week off from work
  6. Blood Donor Support - Donated blood to some one? let us know and take a paid day off
  7. Jury Duty - If you are a North American associate who was called for Jury Duty, please submit the letter of jury invitation to HR portal to avail an extra paid time off
  8. Ex-Military  / Veteran Affairs - Are you a EU/North American Veteran or an Indian Ex-Military personnel, please avail paid time offs if called by your respective local veteran affairs administration / parades / Veterans Day celebrations etc

 

Internship

 

  1. Internship programs range from 6 months up to a full year as recommended by respective managers based on the performance and learning rate of an intern
  2. Fully Paid Internship   - Travel, Food and Accommodation expenses are fully covered by Vuoto for those undergoing internship programs at one of our locations, this is not a salary and should be seen as a fully paid training program run by Vuoto or one of its affiliates / partners
  3. Enterprise access to tools and systems will be restricted during the internship period and will be granted with all staff level privileges upon starting employment
  4. Health Care costs while under internship is not fully covered by Vuoto / GMP. Respective managers can decide to decline or approve claims based on the criticality of an illness
  5. WFH is not allowed during internship

 

Trainings

 

  1. Technology training and skillset upgrades are additional benefits associates can avail while being employed at Vuoto
  2. All mandatory trainings are conducted free of cost to the employee
  3. If external training classes are recommended for - language, technology, research or tooling, the cost of such external trainings will be fully reimbursed every quarter

 

Pardon / Protection from the Unknown

 

  1. Caused an outage by killing a procfs by mistake?  First of all we take the blame that you were able to do this on our systems. So no need to hide and panic, just call the crisis management hotline of Vuoto and keep calm. We got you covered under our ' PROTECTION FROM THE UNKNOWN ' policy made just for nut cases like you. Next time please listen to your mom, don't you remember she always told you to "look before you leap". She was a wise lady and so we all are, minor mistakes happen and this cannot threaten your relationship with us nor with any of our customers and consortium partners, we are building a world where human errors are forgiven, systems are smarter and critical data is immutable - so stop worrying and call the hotline now!
